• Q: What is Hell or High Water?

    A: Hell or High Water is a subterranean cocktail lounge located beneath Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. We specialize in craft cocktails, elevated spirits, and an extensive bourbon selection, all served in a timeless and intimate setting.

    Q: Where are you located?

    A: We are located at 112 W. Washington St, right below Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville.

    Q: What is your dress code?

    A: We do not have an official dress code, but we encourage guests to dress smart casual. We are firm believers in the wisdom of Bill Cunningham that, like a well-made drink, “fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life”. We only ask guests to be comfortable yet polished.

  • Q: Can I make a reservation?

    A: We highly recommend reservations to guarantee seating. Reservations can be made through our website or Tock. 

    Q: What are the seating options?

    A: We offer general seating in our Library and Lounge, bar seating, and private room options such as the Boudoir, Fumoir, and Gaga Room. For our Boudoir, Fumoir, and Gaga Rooms we charge a $10 per person Room Fee through Tock. 

    Q: How long are reservations?

    A: All reservations are for 2 hours. If you’re interested in extended time, please email us at info@hellorhighwaterbar.com.

    Q: Can I reserve a private room?

    A: Yes! We have private rooms available. Our Boudoir, Fumoir, and Gaga Rooms each offer unique hideaways, perfect for the curious spirit. Private room reservations can be made through Tock. Please note that our private rooms carry a $10 per person Room Fee through Tock.

    Q: What happens if I’m late?

    A: We’ll hold your reservation for 30 minutes after your reservation time. If you’re running later than that, please call us at 502.587.3057, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

    Q: Can I make a reservation for a large group?

    A: For general seating, we accommodate up to 12 guests through Tock. For larger groups, please consider contacting our events coordinator at susan@hellorhighwaterbar.com  for event options.

  • Q: Do you serve food?

    A: While we focus on craft cocktails and spirits, we offer a small selection of snacks and desserts to complement your drinks.

    Q: Do you offer non-alcoholic drinks?

    A: Yes, we offer a variety of options, including thoughtfully crafted non-alcoholic options made with the same care and creativity as our signature cocktails.

    Q: Can I bring outside food or drink?

    A: Outside food and drinks are not permitted. However, we offer a $30 Cake Service Fee for special occasions. Please note, this fee does not include utensils or plating. If you’d like to bring a cake, please let us know in advance by emailing info@hellorhighwaterbar.com. For private events, please see our information on private events below.

  • Q: Do you host private events?

    A: Absolutely! We offer private rooms and full buyout options for special occasions. Please email our management team at info@hellorhighwaterbar.com for more information.

    Q: Do you allow outside catering?

    A: Yes, outside catering is permitted for private events! We will plan the details to ensure everything runs smoothly. We also collaborate with some incredible local caterers we know and love—feel free to ask us recommendations or assistance in coordinating your catering needs.

  • Q: What is your cancellation policy?

    A: We kindly request that cancellations or changes to your reservation be made at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations cancelled with less notice and no-shows are subject to a $10 per person cancelation fee.

    Q: Do you have an age restriction?

    A: Guests must be 21 or older to enter Hell or High Water.

    Q: Is gratuity included?

    A: We included 20% gratuity for parties of six or more.

  • Q: Is Hell or High Water wheelchair accessible?

    A: Yes, our space is wheelchair accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please make a note in your reservation via Tock.

    Q: Where can I park?

    A: Street parking and nearby garages are available. The nearest parking garages will be located at KFC Yum! Center, 1 Arena Plaza (N. Second St. and W. Washington St.) and the Witherspoon Parking Garage, 101 Witherspoon St. (Witherspoon St. and N. First St.)

  • Q: Do you sell gift cards?

    A: Yes, gift cards are available for purchase through our website or in person.

    Q: Do you have live music?

    A: We offer live Jazz with Ron Jones’s Jazz Duo every Wednesday from 8-10 PM. Please note that on rare occasions we might have to move Jazz to a different night of the week to accommodate schedules.
